Meet the Pilots
Randy Hardy and Greg Largen (both owners of 1943 Boeing Stearmans) started Largen & Hardy Aviation and Stearman Sky Tours in 2014 to give the public the opportunity to experience flight in the same open cockpit biplanes that aviation cadets of WWII trained in.
"Greg and I started this for fun, but also for the opportunity to provide an aviation experience to others. More importantly, we feel as though we're guardians of the history of these aircrafts and wish to share this experience for as long as we can. We fly because we love it and want to show others the joy of flight, especially in a Boeing Stearman PT-17. It's just too cool." - Randy Hardy
"We have been honored to fly with may WWII veterans of all branches of service and with several who flew and instructed in these "Primary Trainers". In our hearts and minds, it's not about those of us who own and fly these beautiful aircrafts, but about the plane and the man with the vision. Lloyd Carlton Stearman was born and raised in Kansas and studied to become an engineer and designer. It's also about what it meant to so many during WWII. Both to the cadets and to those at the Boeing Wichita plant who built them. Over 8,000 were built and flown by more military pilots than any other aircraft." - Greg Largen
